AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM

Project details
:

The Australian museum opened a new exhibition called 'Climate Change: Our Future, Our Choice'. With a mixture of humour and gravity the exhibition takes a look at the effects of the choices we must make in this decade. The audience will be informed, challenged and surprised by objects, interactive games, graphics and audio-visual projections to interpret the climate-altered futures.

 Experience
:

Four showcase modules of the Sustainable Dance Floor have been installed at the museum. The tiles are connected to an Energy Meter that shows the amount of electricity generated. Exhibition project manager Fan Dorey says: "We are getting great publicity and amazing feedback on how great the exhibition is, how wonderful the design is and how entertaining and interactive the exhibits are. Without a doubt, the dance floor is the most popular thing - with kids and adults! We have set it up so that once the visitors start dancing the Bee Gees song 'Staying Alive' starts up, along with the mirror ball and coloured lights. A meter also measures the amount of power created. Once people realize how it all works, a large crowd starts watching and encouraging them to jump harder.

From Sydney to Perth
: In September 2009 this exhibition moved to Scitech; Perth’s science centre, Western Australia where the exhibition will be hosted for a further two years. You can get more information about the science centre at www.scitech.org.au
